Our Editorial Team
Updated 3 November 2026 · Land & Property editorial team
Our guides are written and checked by the Land & Property editorial team, published under the organisation and not under invented personal names. Writers research from statutes, regulators and our own listing data, a second check confirms each source, and pages on law, tax or price get extra review. We are not a law firm, so nothing here is legal advice.

Who is on the editorial team?
We publish under the organisation, not under personal names. That is deliberate. A made-up writer with borrowed degrees tells a reader nothing they can check, and we will not do it. Our Land & Property editorial policy sets out the same rule for every page.
The team works in roles rather than titles. One person can hold more than one role, and a page is never checked only by the person who wrote it.
| Role | What it does |
|---|---|
| Researcher | Finds the statute, regulator page, report or listing data behind each claim, and records the link and the date it was read |
| Writer | Drafts the page in plain Uganda English, answer first, with prices dated and in UGX |
| Fact checker | Opens every source again and compares it with the wording on the page. Removes anything that cannot be confirmed |
| Editor | Checks the page for fairness, links, duplicates and promotion, then signs it off and sets the "updated" date |
How is each guide reviewed before it goes live?
Every page goes through the same steps.
- Sources first. A claim without a source is left out. We rank statutes and regulators above news and market reports.
- Second read. A different person opens each cited link and checks that it says what the page says.
- Dates. Prices and fees are shown as dated ranges, for example "as of November 2026", with the source named.
- Neutral wording. Pages that name a developer, estate or firm state facts only. They make no claim about quality.
- Publish and log. The page carries its sources at the bottom and the date the facts were last checked at the top.
Corrections are public. If a change touches a number, a legal statement, a name or a recommendation, it goes into the Corrections Log.
How are legal and tax pages treated differently?
Pages that make a statement about law, tax, fees or price are flagged for extra care. For these the checker compares our wording with the text of the Act or the regulator's page, names the Act and section on the page, and says "as of November 2026". Where a source cannot be opened, we say so or leave the statement out.
We are not a law firm. We do not present ourselves as advocates, and the Advocates Act (Chapter 295), section 71, forbids anyone who is not an advocate from using a title implying legal qualification. Section 72 also makes it an offence for an unqualified person to prepare, for a fee or reward, an instrument relating to immovable property. So we do not draft sale agreements or transfer documents, and we do not give legal opinions. We point you to an advocate who holds a current practising certificate, which the Advocates Act (section 16) says is valid until 31 December of the year of issue.
We do not claim a page has been reviewed by an advocate unless that page says so and names the review. Where we list outside professionals, see property lawyers surveyors.
Do you have conflicts of interest?
Yes, and you should know them. We list and sell some property ourselves, we host listings from agents, and we earn from featured placement, paid visits and agent plans. These are set out on our advertising disclosure page. Our guides are written and reviewed separately from sales, and no seller can pay to change a guide. When a guide discusses something we also sell, the page says so.
You can see what we sell on Land & Property own listings. Where we mention a partner, we describe what they do and we do not call them the best.
What topics do we cover, and how do I reach the team?
We write most for buyers and sellers in Uganda, including readers abroad. Start with Buying Property in Uganda From the UK if you are overseas, or the monthly Uganda Land and Property Market Brief (Monthly) for market movements. To find any page, use the Site Map.
Found an error, or want a source checked? Ask our team on WhatsApp or by email with the page address and what you think is wrong. We read the source first, then correct the page or explain why it stands. You can also browse all listings to see the property we describe.

Frequently asked questions
Who writes these guides?
The Land & Property editorial team, working in four roles: researcher, writer, fact checker and editor. Guides are published under the organisation, not under personal names, because we will not invent authors or credentials. Each page shows its sources and the date the facts were last checked.
Are legal pages reviewed?
Pages on law, tax, fees and price get extra checking against the text of the Act or the regulator's page, and they name the Act and section. We do not claim an advocate has reviewed a page unless it says so. Our guides are general information, not legal advice.
Can I trust prices in your guides?
Prices are shown as dated ranges with the source named, for example as of November 2026. Where we use our own figures they are asking prices from listings, not sale prices. If you spot a price that looks wrong, tell us and we will check it.
How do I report an error?
Send our team the page address and what you think is wrong, with a link to your source if you have one. We check the source, then correct the page and record the change in the Corrections Log, or reply with our reason for leaving it as it is.
