Founding Agents: The First 100 Verified Agents

Founding agents are the first 100 agents to pass our verification. They receive extra featured days and a Founding agent mark on their profile, and they earn more featured days for each agent they refer who also passes. Nobody skips the National ID and live selfie check, and the offer closes at 100. Terms as of November 2026.

What do founding agents get?
Founding agents are the first 100 agents who pass Land & Property verification. They get two things that later agents will not:
- Extra featured days. A featured day promotes one of your listings above ordinary results. Founding agents receive a set number of extra days on top of the free launch offer. See Verified Agent Plans and Pricing for how featured days work.
- A Founding agent mark. A small mark on your profile that shows you joined in the first group. It stays on your profile while the account is in good standing.
You still list for free during the launch offer, like every other agent. The founding perks are bonuses for joining early, not a replacement for good listings. They do not promise enquiries, views or sales. Those depend on your property, your price, your photos and how fast you reply.
Why do we want early agents? On 3 November 2026 our snapshot held 93 published listings, and all of them were listed by Land & Property itself (Land & Property listings, Nov 2026). We need honest agents in Kampala, Wakiso and the farmland districts more than we need a large number of unchecked ones.
What verification must a founding agent pass?
Exactly the same check as everyone else. There is no founding shortcut. You give your National ID number (NIN) and take a live selfie, which we match to the ID. We then review the application and, if it passes, show the Verified badge on your profile and listings. You can read the steps in How We Verify Agents.
Two further steps are separate and optional:
- A paid land-title check on a listing, required above a value threshold.
- The paid The Interview Badge, given for one month after an office or phone interview, and only after standard verification.
Being a founding agent does not make either of these free, and it does not exempt you from the listing rules or the code of conduct. Licensing is separate too. The Lands Minister said in September 2026 that a Real Estate Bill is being fast-tracked to professionalise the sector, and as of November 2026 we treat it as proposed. Our badge is a check on who you are, and it is not a government licence.
Is there a referral reward?
Yes. Each agent you refer who passes verification earns you extra featured days. The reward is paid in featured days, not cash. The rules are short:
- The referred agent applies through your link or names you when they apply.
- They pass the National ID and live selfie check.
- Only then do the extra featured days reach your account.
An agent who applies but fails verification earns nothing for the person who referred them. Referring yourself, or opening a second account under another name, is not allowed and can lead to removal of both accounts. This is a good fit for people who already work with other agents. Co-brokers, agents in the same office, and agents who share viewings often know who is honest. Work with them under a written split, not on a handshake.
What are the limits of the founding offer?
It is better to know the limits before you apply:

How do I join, and what about agents outside Uganda?
Start with a short application. apply to become a verified agent and the team will guide you through the ID and selfie steps. Once you pass, you can see your profile in the verified property agents directory.

One honest note for agents. Real estate agents in Uganda must register with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau, with the Uganda Revenue Authority for tax, and with a local authority for a trading licence, according to URA. Keep those papers current. Your founding mark will not do that for you.

What happens when 100 agents have joined?
The founding group closes. Agents who pass later are verified agents but not founding agents, and they do not receive the founding mark or founding bonus days. They can still list under the launch offer while it runs.
