Verified Agent Plans and Pricing
Updated 3 November 2026 · Land & Property editorial team
As of November 2026, agents list free on Land & Property during the launch offer. Verified status comes from a National ID and live selfie check, not from payment. Paid plans, featured days and any listing charge come later, and we plan to give at least 60 days' notice before charging. Plan prices are shown on the pricing page, not guessed here.

What is the launch offer for agents?
During the launch offer, agents list on Land & Property for free. You sign up, apply to become a verified agent, and your listings appear next to everyone else's. Nothing is charged for the listing itself while the offer runs.
Free listing and Verified status are two separate things. Free listing is the commercial offer. Verified status is a check on you as a person: your National ID number (NIN) and a live selfie, matched. You do not pay to get the Verified badge, and paying never skips the check. That is the point of the programme. Buyers who see the badge should know it was earned, not bought.
Our listings so far also show why early agents matter. On 3 November 2026 our snapshot held 93 published listings, and every one of them was listed by Land & Property itself. The agent side of the marketplace is only starting (Land & Property listings, Nov 2026).
What will the paid plans include?
The paid layers are being built in steps. This table says what each layer is, whether it costs money, and where it stands as of November 2026. We do not publish prices in this guide, because the numbers belong on the pricing page. If this guide and that page ever differ, the pricing page is correct.
| Layer | What it is | Cost | Status, Nov 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listing | Your properties in search and on your profile | Free during the launch offer | Live |
| Verified badge | National ID plus live selfie check | Free | Live |
| Verified-agent plan | A monthly subscription for agents, with more tools and visibility | Paid, after the launch offer | Prices not yet fixed here |
| Featured days | A paid boost for a listing for a set number of days | Paid, with bonus days for founding and referring agents | See below |
| Interview badge | An extra badge for one month after an office or phone interview | Paid, only after standard verification | The Interview Badge |
| Land-title check | A registry search on a listing's title | Paid, required above a value threshold | Threshold to be published |
Where a price or threshold is not published yet, we say so rather than estimate it.
How do featured days work?
A featured day is one day on which a listing is promoted above ordinary results. You choose the listing, and the boost runs for the number of days you hold. Featuring is a paid boost, so it is shown as promoted. It does not mean we checked that property more closely. Our page on Featured Listings explains the label.
Two rules apply to featured days under our current plan:
- Reply fast to keep your place. An agent who does not answer enquiries within 24 hours can lose featured eligibility. A boost sends buyers to you, so it should not send them to silence.
- Bonus days are earned. Founding agents and agents who refer another agent who passes verification receive extra featured days. See Founding Agents for the limits.
We do not promise a number of enquiries, views or sales from featured days. Results depend on the property, the price, the photos and how quickly you reply.
When will listing stop being free?
As of November 2026 we have not fixed an end date for the launch offer. What we have fixed is the order of events. First, we announce the date on the site and to agents. Then at least 60 days pass. Only after that can any listing charge or plan fee start. If you have not agreed to a plan, you are not billed for one.
This is our stated plan, and we will keep it as a standing commitment. If we ever change it, we will change this page first.
What do agents have to pay or register outside our plans?
Our plans are separate from your legal duties as a business. The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) says all real estate agents in Uganda must register with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) for company registration, with URA for tax, and with a local authority for a trading licence. As of November 2026, URA also says a resident who pays a resident real estate agent's fees must withhold tax at 6% of the gross amount. A company pays income tax at 30% of chargeable income. Keep invoices from us like any other business expense, and ask URA or a tax adviser how these rules apply to you.
Licensing is moving too. The Lands Minister said in September 2026 that the government is fast-tracking a Real Estate Bill to professionalise the industry and protect the public from fraudulent transactions. Another report dated June 2026 says the bill would require estate agents and brokers to be licensed, and does not say it has been tabled or passed. We treat it as proposed. A Land & Property plan will never be a substitute for any licence the law later requires.
How are Verified agents kept honest after they join?
A plan does not protect an agent from a complaint. Anyone can use Report a Suspicious Listing or Agent to flag a listing or an agent. A confirmed breach can lead to removal of the badge or the account, whatever plan the agent is on. Buyers can browse the Verified Agents Directory to see who has passed. Landlords who want a different product should read the Landlord Access Plan: Pay Monthly, List and Collect Rent, which is separate from agent plans.
Why does this matter to agents? The Principal of Makerere University Business School said in September 2026 that many land agents operate without adequate professional standards. A visible, checked badge is one way an honest agent can stand apart from that.
Where can I read the other agent pages?
Start with our guide to property agents in Uganda. It sets out the verification steps and how the directory works. If you are ready, the quickest next step is to apply to become a verified agent.
Frequently asked questions
How much do agent plans cost?
As of November 2026 listing is free during the launch offer. Prices for the verified-agent plan, featured days and the interview badge are published on the pricing page once they are set. We do not estimate them elsewhere, so check the pricing page for the current figure.
When will listing stop being free?
No end date is fixed as of November 2026. Our stated plan is to announce the date and then allow at least 60 days before any listing charge starts. Any change to that plan will appear on this page first.
Can I buy the Verified badge?
No. Verified follows a National ID check and a live selfie match. A paid plan, featured days or an interview badge never replace that check, and a confirmed breach can remove the badge whatever plan you are on.
Do featured days guarantee enquiries?
No. A featured day promotes a listing, but we do not promise enquiries, views or sales. Price, photos, honest details and how fast you reply matter more. Slow replies can cost you featured eligibility.
